So glad I don't have to deal with bs pull overs like matts anymore. I remember 16-20ish. I seriously got asked way too many questions.
Last one was by a sheriff I knew but I definitely spat some smoke and a backfire through a yellow lol.
But then again. I did get questioned walking out of Safeway with a champagne bottle. Asked for ID and everything because he had probable cause that I was underage, then questioned my ID because it was still the vertical one SMH. Then the guy had nerve to accuse that my plates were my dads and he kept giving me **** so I went to the back and grabbed my gear and went really? You really still think it's my dads? He apologized and let me go immediately.

My passenger did give his ID to the cop. Good to know for future reference.
There is a reason why I keep my lawyers information in my wallet at all times.
Also, if it is a state/local officer, as per the SCOTUS, you do NOT have a duty to tell the truth. You could tell them your name is Micky Mouse and its not a crime, however...never, never lie to a FEDERAL officer, that brings with it a mandatory 5 year sentence.

Be aware, this will put the officer on the defensive and may end with you cuffed in the squad car. However also remember the moment they say your under arrest to say NOTHING, not a single word, just keep your ears open, and be ready to take them to court for wrongful arrest.

i never admit. they are going to give you a ticket anyway. let them do their job. they know how fast you were going and you know how fast you were going. have him show you the radar. they should be able to provide that to you.

Bear, will you represent me in traffic court

Dude... right?
I'm 90% sure he was CHP, but he popped me on some little 25pmh back street.
He checked off radar, but never gave me an actual speed. I feel like an idiot for not asking to see the reading. I didn't admit to anything, but knew that I was speeding so I was extremely polite.
Essentially he gave me the: I'm writing you up for less than your actual speed, so you're welcome.
I didn't see him at all, so there's no way to know if he even had his radar out. What I do know is I was doing at least 35, which sounds like 50 on our cars.
He was nice, so i was too... then he came back with the ticket.

quite frankly, i always tell the truth...but only in the Subaru. im sure im not the only one whos gotten a ticket then have the LEO stick around to ask about your car. lol. Last time i was pulled over at 2 AM on 85 while doing 90+, i simply told him "there was no one else and i decided to have some fun". he stared me down and and told me to slow it the hell down. then proceed to ask how many horsies i had. his facial expression when i said 170, was priceless. As if i SHOULD have gotten the ticket. LOL. bottom line, LEOs appreciate honesty and minimal confrontation more than trying to take your ticket and leave. No, not all the times youll be lucky, but its a foot in the right direction. my .02

There is absolutely no way to go into the situation ready or with a plan. The best you can do is the best you can do, because this is all about variables that are often outside of your control (cop's mood, what your car made him think of, etc.).
One of the first times I was pulled over, I was surrounded by cops and blocked in, because one of the officers was interested in buying my car and wanted to talk to me about it. That scared the crap out of me, but I learned a lot that day!

Thanks for the advice guys. I just double checked my citation and it was, in fact, local Santa Rosa PD.
From the bit of research I've done it looks like I need to draft the motion and send it to the local PD before my court date. if anyone has any experience with this kind of stuff, it'd be greatly appreciated.
