Question PSI question!

I have 225's on 17x8 rims.

The limit on my tires say 51psi, but I'm scared to because the tires look kinda stretched on a 8 inch wide rim. It's currently at 41 psi, and very grippy. I feel like I would improve a lot on mpg if i increased my psi, but wondering if it is safe to do that.

Any inputs?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin

Tire pressure recommendation should be on a sticker on driver side door.

Just run 35psi or at least keep it under 40psi otherwise you will start having more tire wear down the center of the tire.

it has more to do with the weight of the car then tire size. but 35 is a good day to day psi. i go 38 front 35 rear

It also differs from the brand of tires also. Sidewall design differs.
