That would actually be a VERY VERY BAD idea (in some places).

what about the target right next to berkeley?
the 2-story one, i think i might go there at 6am and see how many people are there.
if there are more than 20 people or so, then i will head back to berkeley and study for my midterm

I work for game crazy and we have no systems that arent already prealocated so if your looking to get a PS3 on launch, your best bet is FRYS or BEST BUY, the reason so is cuzz they are Some of sonys largest markets which means they will be allocated the heaviest (FRYS being the best bet because theres only i belive 90 store locations nation wide). I talk to the sony reps every week and most retailers are attempting to buy 15,000 units. 15,000 units for FRYS would = roughly 150 units per store granted they devide evenly (not likely). THe brokaw Frys will be getting roughly 50 systems on launch 1st come 1st server basis. They will be handing out tickets at 7:00 pm thursday evenning. just giving everyone a heads up on the issue. Ive been dealing with it the past 2 months. If you are looking for a system PM me, and ill see what i can do. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

PS. The break down as it looks after launch is for sony to release before christmas roughly 200,000-300,000 which would bring the total of systems on the market to 600k to 700k possible more. I herd that in Japan its not going to do well, and for once the 360 might outsell this holidays better in japan by a huge margin due to there only getting 100k of units of PS3. I guess the game BLUE DRAGON is off the hook and all the japaniese people are eating it up.

CompUSA is dedicating all of their ps3's in combo Sony HDTV deals for thousands of $. if they have any extra ps3's after the combo sets then they will sell those individually.

I love how people are already so willing to abondon the DVD format, and more importantly, invest in the 'next generation' format when there are still two competing formats. There are codecs available to squeze perfectly acceptable HD images into a size manageable for a dual-Layer DVD but the two camps Sony/blu-ray and Toshiba/DVD-HD would rather you have to buy all new players. I'll personally keep the faster reading DVD drive in my 360 and the intersting gameplay afforded by the Wii controller over a PS3 with debatable disc format advantages.

Yeah since I got 2 wireless controllers, a game, a hd, a controller recharger, a remote, Live Gold for a year and I think that is it for like $450 @ Costco IIRC
