My turbo shipped with a BCS that needed an old style GM injector pigtail to wire it up. I went to the parts store and even made up a story that my Cherokee had broke the wire right at the connector so I needed a new one. This gave them a year, make, model, etc... to look up. They spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to find the part I wanted and were coming up empty. I couldn't take it anymore, pushed them away from their computer and did their job for them in 2 minutes. Only then did they know where to look and find it for me.

when your pump was done for a while, was it constantly whining (constant drone at a certain rpm?)
I'm coming across all sorts of threads for different years and miles (almost seems like we need an index thread w/all years/model/miles like the ringland thread) - this PS pump thing seems like a pretty widespread problem.
my '11 @ 33k is whining (when it's sub 45-50* out, only for a few minutes of driving) and definitely isn't low in fluid. I'll hopefully be attempting a drain/refresh this evening via turkey baster/ siphon pump method and post back

Mine made noise, vibrated, and felt inconsistent... not to mention leaked
I HIGHLY recommend installing a PS cooler with the new pump. They can be had for $35 and will do a world of good saving the pump in the future

I was gonna let 04GG post my reply on this topic since I've said the same thing for the past 12 years and my answer still holds true, but instead I'll humor this one last time.
Buy factory, spend the extra money, know the part will hold up if you do the job properly and you'll have steering when you need it versus taking a chance on someone who doesn't know how to properly do a factory rebuild.
In my estimation 89% of the places out there DO NOT know how to even begin doing it correctly.
John will likely back me on this since I know he and I just repeated basically this exact answer last Wednesday night.
*This reply brought to you by a grumpy old tech who's shaking his head right now.*
**I don't wanna hear about "..CarDone..." either.

*I wonder if people remember you DON'T USE "Power Steering Fluid", USE "ATF", preferably the rated version for your model year and that's why I see so many new pumps selling?
The cold, dry air doesn't help it either. Let the system warm up, seals and o-rings fail in this type of weather.
