did it take a long time because you kept delaying it, or were they just slow to give you a response?

I'm sure there's some time limit they have to respond to you by, I'd find out how long it is.

I know that after you get a ticket, you can request an officer's notes from the traffic stop and if they don't get them to you in two weeks time you can ask the judge to throw your case out.

 

omg stupid this stupid *****. I went to the court house to turn in the documents. I pay the ticket and and about to leave when the clerk said i had to make a court date. I explained that this was a trial by written declaration and that i didn't think i needed a court date. She went on to explain that i need one and that the cop will appear and once they read my statement he will give his to the judge. I then told her that she was wrong and that he is given a notice where he writes his statement and we both turn them into the judge. I asked to speak to someoen else and she refused saying that i don't know what i'm talking about. I went ahead and made the court date because there was nothing else i could really do. After talking to Gagan is seems like im screwed and will need to actually appear in court. I'm going to call the court house now and see if i can speak to someone who knows what they are talking about.

 

okay just got off the phone with them. hmm i guess contra costa county does it different then everyone else. You do have to set a date for the court but you don't need to appear. I'm going to appear anyways incase he says something that i don't agree with.

I'm so pissed that the DPD has started giving ref tickets, because with BS like this, and all the other stupid stuff they do, it's just out of control.
