for the record, those aint zombies...
in the truest sense... ok... in the george a. romero world, zombies are dead people come back to life, for some weird reason...
movies like "28 days later" and others, uses the "infected but still living" model. ie, like in 28 days later, a monkey with that was being tested with the RAGE virus, bites one of the people who broke into the lab to release them.
that first person, say person-zero goes on to infect others in a logarithmic rate.
in a romero world, zombies would bite living people. but then, they would go into a DEAD stage. that is before they wake up again as a "living dead"...
note, even in the RESIDENT EVIL world, they constantly talk about a serum to cure those who are infected.
