Imagine this, I'm confused. The $5 prepay does or does not cover the park entrance fee? Although discouraged if one feels so inclined to bring their own food and beverage and does not pre-pay, the only charge is the park entrance fee, correct?

Parking is $5 for everyone, I have no control over this, I do not charge it, the park does. Sorry, there is no way around it. On the bright side, your money goes towards keeping the park alive.

I'm charging $5 per head for ENTRY which includes food and drink if you pre-pay.

I'm charging $10 a head of ENTRY which includes food and drink if you decide to pay at the door. The reason for the price increase is because I can't plan for the exact number of people and need to spend extra money to overshoot the actual number of people that show up and I am not going to do that out of my own pocket again like I did in 2005, so the extra 5 is for safety so that I can ensure we have more then enough food. If that doesn't make sense, sorry, it's hard to explain and its the way I plan this event so that it goes smoothly. That $10 does NOT include parking.

The money goes towards park rental which is more then a grand, plus about 3k in food, drinks, and supplies.

I strongly discourage you from bringing your own food unless you have health problems as it throws my numbers off. The money not only goes towards food and drinks, but entry and prizes for the events and raffle (for what isn't donated). $10 is a small price to pay for entry and all the food and drinks you want considering you have to pay $6-7 to get full at McDonalds and we're providing top quality food and drinks.

I can't make everyone happy, if you (Not you, Jeff, just generalizing) think $10 is too much, perhaps you shouldn't own such a nice car that requires gas. Think about it this way, it's like paying for a movie ticket only with all the food you can eat included, and some free prizes and such to top it all off... Nothing is free these days.

OUCH, bad news guys... I just got off the phone with the park and it turns out that they increased the price of parking to $8 a car!!!! I know it's only $3 more then before, but sucks in its own.

The park is worth it though, its so beautiful. This only happens once a year, so $3 or not, big whoop.

I know all that, it's what was stated in the first post. Let's say a brought a keg of beer a BBQ and some tri-tip?

Before you go crazy, I'm not even planning to bring a keg of beer... Say a little Smokey Joe, some chairs, a small canopy, cooler what ever. It doesn't sound like a bad place to set up a spread.

Edit:
Reading it back, A Keg of Beer sounds sooo good...

i am sure they are raising it to cus maybe they dont get a bunch of business so with the maintenance and what not they have to raise prices to stay open. And to be honest this will be a huge group for then to make some cash on.. all and all even in oregon i am used to paying 10 bucks to enter parks so this wont bother me.

at 8 bucks a head, the park will make a ton considering how many people will attend

$8 a car, not a head.

Like I said, the entry fee pays for everything including rental fee, supplies, etc. Food is only part of that fee.

The more people that bring food, the more things will go to waste, and the more it will cost others. I'd rather everyone just show up empty handed and be fed by the event since everything is included.

We're going to have tri-tip, we're going to have beer, so why bring your own? doesn't make sense.
