A powerball lottery winner got drugged and then mugged by a couple who then goes on to steal about $500k-1.5 mill from him. I forgot the exact number. Couple gets caught and the guy is returned his money

Most intelligent lotto winners disappear for a while after winning, so they can avoid the throngs of charity-chasers, swindlers, and muggers that are bound to search them out. I imagine even dumbasses would take the opportunity to quit work and go on a long vacation

I've heard of big lotto winners (100mil+) sometimes holding onto tickets until the 1 year limit just so the publicity can die down.

 

Wow a whole year. CA only gets 90 days I believe.
