can you use any type of P/S fluid? i checked the manual and it said that to use Dexron III Automatic Tranmission Fluid. is this a typo or i just read this wrong.

on GM's site, dexron 4 is backwards compatible with dexron 3....but does anyone know if dexron 4 is safe for the subaru power steering system?

 

Just use what the manual says to. How is that so hard? If youre having so much trouble go buy some from the dealer. Is it worth saving a couple dollars if you mess up the steering system because you were cheap?

who said i'm having trouble?.i brought up a question. dexron 4 is a new formulation introduced in 06, and the manual was written before 02 and specs dexron 3.
