These are the eBay DEPO brand headlight housings with an aftermarket HID kit preinstalled. 6000k bulbs. So far, very impressed with the fit and finish on them.

Just keep an eye on the housing some tend to melt!

Nice, sounds wicked and looks great in that pic. I have only driven one, an '04 SMG, and while I would never get the SMG, I was pretty blown away by the car as a whole. Most impressed by the handling, turn-in, and just how tidy the front end is. The SMG was fun, admittedly, but it seems like it would be expensive to fix, and it was silly in car parks. Full WOT accelerating though, it was pretty neat.

I was pretty excited to see replica housings. Do they really melt, and is that a wiring issue that can be detected/fixed before it starts melting stuff?

Most of the time the heat from your hids will heat up the projector cups and melt them or discolor them.....
If you use 35 watt kits you will most likely be fine.....55 watts run too hot most of the time for low beams.
You could retro fit the fixtures and eliminate the problem. Buy the morimoto retroquick system. Comes with oem ballasts and philips bulbs for 370. Cheap as hell for oem stuff.

Edit: also comes with new projector lens'
That will keep stuff from melting since they will be quality projectors.

Scored myself a set of 04 STI struts and springs with less than 2k miles on them for $400. I just put them on my 08 Forester XT this last Saturday. Opened them up to replace the grease fittings, thinking they would need it due to the age but nope. They were brand new inside also.

It didn't even drop it a 1/4" from what it had before. Also, it rides like a champ. No 'bobble head' here.

The tool I bought it from had 07 STI springs on the stock strut. The struts were so blown, I could push the shaft in with my hand and it took like 20 min to pop back out. Lame.
