*Northern VA/DC metro area real estate prices. 
Chances of finding a single family home with 2-car garage out here for under $400k is nil unless you want to live in areas were people park their cars in their front yards (no offense meant to those here that do) and where I wouldn't feel safe leaving my car out. Thus we had to jump on this one even though I wasn't house shopping.

I sold my house in Dallas earlier this year that was bigger, had nicer interior/amenities, and closer to the city for nearly half what this house cost me out here.
