I dont see how you can get a ticket during the day time. If you dont need your headlights on, I dont see how you could get a ticket for not having them on, but having fogs on. I did the mod (very easy) but you do have to have the parking lights on. it doesnt really make a difference unless you disable the DRL's too, otherwise you might as well turn on your headlights and fogs and save yourself the hassle of screwing with the wires.

Quick question. How did you splice the 6" wire into the orange wire (or whatever colour yours is)? I tore mine apart yesterday but I had to put it back together really quick so I couldn't finish the job. Any help?

 

i spliced my wire about an inch from the fogs themselves and ran wire to a custom switch then back to the battery

 

Yes it is. I had it on my WRX. I could even have the fogs on without any other lights being turned on.
