Police officer whips out ***** to make a point *sigh*

I'm on California St. this morning in SF. I'm in the left lane. A BMW X5 is next to me. We're both infront, at the cross walk, waiting for the light to change. It changes, I go normally, he waits a half of a second, and then guns it to cuts me off. There's no cars in front of us, nothing, it looks clear and I have no idea why he did this. I shrug it off and go to the right line. We're now at the next intersection just as before, but we've swapped lanes. Then I realize why he did what he did. At the next intersection there's a delivery truck in the right line, blocking it and the parking lane with hazards on. So, I decide to test the waters. When the light changes I go normally, waiting to see what he does. He suddenly pushes his X5, it lurches and I just take off and get infront of him. I'm wait out front and pass him with ease, no where near how close he was when getting infront of me. Now he's behind me in the left lane at the next intersection, not able to get over because of the truck.

We get to the following intersection where I have gotten over to the right because I have to make a right turn, while he stays in the left lane and stops the car in moving traffic in the left lane just past me honking his horn wildly. I just ignore it. He's now backed up traffic behind him. I make the right turn, he makes the right turn, illegally from the left lane. He's honking all the while.

We get to the next intersection and I pull over to let my wife out, and he starts mouthing off to her, I tell her just to ignore him. When she's gone I pull down my window and look over, he's waving his *****... excuse me, his BADGE, through the open window saying I need to slow down and that I cut him off, wildly. I just say to him, "You're kidding? That's exactly what you did to me the intersection before and you're mad at me?" And he respnonds, "No I didn't", "Sure you did", I say with a genuine laugh, and then I get another "No, I didn't, *******", as he continues to jiggle his badge at me from 2 lanes over. I put both my hands up like a "What's a mother to do?" sort of "oh well" gesture, and he says "*******" again and the lights green and we cross market far apart from eachothers.

Two more intersections go by and he pulls over somewhere on the left side of this one-way street and I am gone. My goodness, I can't stand this kinda crap. Yeah, I know, I didn't have to repeat his original offense. But, you know, when I screw with someone and they screw with me back, it does infact dawn on me that I get what I deserve. And sure, believe it or not, cops are people too and they have good days and bad days. But to wave your badge like you've got a few more inches in your crotch is just stupid.

Curiously, though, what are the chances that he could have written down my plate and I could get a ticket?

Even if I had, it just would have exacerbated the problem. I don't have time for problems. I have even less time for exacerbated problems. I just hope this doesn't exacerbate into a ticket.

That's the most gratuitous use of the word "exacerbate" I've ever seen!

I doubt it. I had some ******* who cut me off on hwy 17 wave a badge at me (as I was passing him, after he had cut me off) and nothing ever came of it.

you were not in the wrong at all dood. You didn't know why he cut you off, but he didn't do it safely in his big *** stupid SUV.

So you simply recipricated the favor after finding out there was a big truck with blinky lights stopped in a lane, often found on blind turns, or hills in SF.

Fsck that guy, he is a jerk off. I would get a fake FBI badge to keep in your car, wave theat at him next time. ;D

Here is my similar story I have from some 8 years ago..

I was waiting in line to make a right turn with all the other people one
busy Friday evening in downtown SF. I had been driving around for about 30
minutes looking for parking so I was just starting to get annoyed. Some
A-Hole in a brown nova decided he was too important to wait like the rest
of us and tries to jump to the front of the line and make the right from
the middle lane, cutting wide around the rest of us. He tried to pull this
move right in front of me. So, being the good citizen I am I take my
turn wide and block him out. He gets behind me and then trys to speed
past and do the same thing at the next corner. I again block him out
and make him get behind me for the corner. After we make the turn he pulls up
next to me and rolls down his window. "You want to play games, we can play
games" he says to me. I just smile at him. He then picks up a radio and starts
talking into it. Up ahead I see a parking spot. So I pull away and get to the
spot, ready to parallel park into it. He pulls right up behind me. I wait a sec
for him to pass and when he does not I get out of the car. He gets out of
the car and walks right up and gets in my face.

I say "what is your problem".
He says "get back in the car"
I say "I'm trying to park in that spot"
He pulls up his shirt tail and points to the badge on his belt (*****) and
says "get back in your car".

After threating me with a "Assault with a deadly weapon" charge,
I end up with just an Illegal right turn and unsafe lane change ticket.

Apparently, he was an undercover cop in the hood trying to bust prostitutes.
I not only kept him from the bust, but blew his cover.

I think if you did not get a ticket right there, your not going to get one at all.
It's a much bigger pain to give someone a ticket who is not present.

I say fack him too, hence my reference to the dirty cop character in Sopranos, but whipping out a fake badge would surely get you nailed for impersonation!

you wont get a ticket. you know whenever you get pulled over for speeding and the cop gives you the ticket but he gives you his "miranda rights" ticket speech about how you admit no guilt and agree to have a court appearance if you want blah blah and you have to sign the ticket. well he didnt make you do that right, so it should be fine since it was a moving violation. cops can give parking tickets without "consent" because its not a moving violation.

Why did no one ask this question....

Cop+X5=WTF?

I thought we had budget problems and were cutting workforces in the police departments. How the hell can a cop drive and X5? Not like they're cheap or anything.

On top of that. You should have gottten his badge number. He was driving like a tool and being a *****. Not to mention created traffic problems and threatening you're wife. That's the type of crap that needs to be addressed because if we just keep letting it happen it's never gonna stop. All these high school football heroes with small dicks on power trips.

I have tons of police in my family and my sister just married another one. None of them are ****** like this...well....I think my sister's husband might be. He drives like a crazy person.

I nearly got into a fight with an on duty police officer because he was threatening me, cussing at me and sticking his head into my window and making physical contact with both spit and his hands. Luckily I had a female in the car and she saw my veins pop out and me make a fist. She literally jumped on my arm. Would not have been pretty...much jail time. Guy nearly caused an accident with me and then went ape ****. My folks told me to let it ride. Never again will I do that. I have a legal right to make complaints.
