Plz help with an Oregon speeding ticket
Not the most exciting post - just trying to get any information on fighting OR speeding ticket. I've searched all over and I just cannot find any forms online and the process is not that well documented online.
1. So far, it seems like there is no way to ask them to extend the court date.
2. Court clerk told me I have to contact State police to get a copy of the officer notes, and that court does not have it. Seems really weird
3. Same clerk told me, most likely they will not allow to appeal a case after the trial by written affidavit.
4. My date to appear is 7.22.08 and they still don't have any record of my ticket (today is 7.17.08). How would I check that it's got turned in at all?
OR courts frustrate the hell out of me...
Oh - know any traffic lawyers in Douglas county?
Thanks in advance - ANY info would be appreciated.

Douglas county is full of crooked *** mother ****ers.
I sent my packet in registered -cetified mail only to be convicted for FTA.
When I asked the clerk, she told me that she placed my packet in the judges In Box, but if holds trial for my case before reading his mail, I'm ****ed.
I told her thanks for nothing & never worried about the ticket again.
It never showed up on my record even after it went to collections...which I never paid.
In fact, I got the whole thing "taken care of" by using the collection agency.
I asked for all records pertaining to the alledged debt, which they never could produce because the county clerk dip****s couldn't find my records.
Tell 'em to **** off & ignore it.

I lived in oregon and well they **** ya for anything.. No traffic school etc. I got 2 tickets in oregon one moving violation and one non moving violation. The moving violation i was being run off the road and the cop saw it cus the person soon as they saw the cop hella sped fast past the cop and he pulled me over. I go to court cus i found that hella wrong. the judge tells me "let them hit you next time cus speeding is illegal." I was shocked and asked for his name number etc so if it were to happen again i will tell them you told me to do this. He said ok and gave me info and then dropped my ticket to 60 bucks. The next one i went to court and it was on v-day the court officer said i will drop it to blah amount cus you dont want to see judge today he is in bad mood workin on v-day night court and he got *****ed out by his wife.. so i just paid it and said f-it. They dont offer traffic school or anything you get it on your record in oregon for 5 years. When i moved to cali they said it has nothing to do with cali. so that was good. In the end oregon is bs when it comes to court cus the officer who even gave ya the ticket "does NOT" have to appear in court. In the end i just pay it and say f-it.. You must have gotten a big ticket yes?

I have been told that is true and also if you go that route dont get caught driving there cus they will have a warrent for your arrest for non payment of tickets.. i have seen that happen a number of times.

Wow... just WOW. It seems more screwed up than I thought. Sounds like 'pay and forget about it' is the easiest option... Thanks for the input!
It's not a huge ticket - $240. I have issues with paying without arguing first.
I was driving a rented minivan with 7 people and camping gear. That thing just can't go slower than 80mph downhill - it's not my fault, really! I swear! I tried to work those breaks!

certain states share their record information, but not all of them.
I got something in Oregon back in 2002. I had to go back up there a month later for the pre-trial to pleade not quilty, then I had to go up again a month later for the real court date.
the points went on my record here in CA, then because I got 4 points in 1 year on my DMV record, CA dmv suspended my license for 6 months.
So yes, they do share information.
on a side note, I lost a lot of money having to take a two days off work, gas to drive up there, hotel for the night, then spent 5 minutes in court to say "not guilty" and have a court date set a month later. then gas to drive home.
a month later, repeat. total loss, about $900.
oh, and another side note
(speaking about lost paperwork)the district attorney didn't have the damn paperwork for my infraction! so the $4,000 fine got reduced to $250! The only paperwork they had was the ticket from the sheriff, only because the judge happened to have a copy of it.
stupid DA!
so instead of fighting it and having it to go a real trial, i took a guilty plea for that reduced amount.

I received a letter...got it somewhere at home....indicating that my driving privilege had been suspended in the great state of Oregon.
My reply letter was a photocopy of my middle finger.
