Please help, quick question about Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for PS3 (In at the store!)

Hey guys,

I'm at the store right now debating whether I should buy Gran Turismo 5 Prologue or not... It looks really cool and would be perfect to hold me over until the real one comes out, that is if it's actually good enough to buy.

Is it like the old ones at all? Can you customize cars? It's only $20 but the guy at the counter says he didn't like it but didn't really play it more then just as a test trial.

I need an answer soon since I only have about 10 more mins till my wife finishes shopping and we have to go... So yay or nay?

Help a brotha' out!

I say don't fall into their trap! Don't give them money until we get the REAL GT5. If people buy that, the company will go "oh, this works, lets string them along like this for future games too."

Is the game any good or not? That's what I need to know... I'm really impatient and know that the real GT5 wont come out for another 3 years (they say Feb, but we all know thats BS)... Does this have the same graphics as the new GT5?

Not worth $20? Is it like arcade mode? Or do you get to customize cars at all?

You can't customize the outside; such as, new paint, logos, and rims. You can only get especial cars from either dealers or when/if you complete a class of race.

But for $20, I guess you can't really go wrong. Graphics are nice though.

@ home and installing the game... Good lord, the installation takes FOREVER. This is the longest that it has ever taken to install any game on any system, It's been like 15mins and it's only half way through on the progress meter. WTF mate?

Yeah GT5:P has a huge install, just be glad you didn't buy it from the PSN store. You'd have to DL a huge GB game and then install it.

I feel its very worth $20. Good amount of tracks, same amount or more cars than other games, and some of the best graphics you'll see. There's been rumors about your GT5:P car collection being transferable, but nothing official from PD.

Enjoy brucelee!

i thought it was worth it too (paid $40 when it was new). just driving Suzuka and Eiger Nordwand alone was well worth it IMO. cars are quite limited, but still a good amount and the mods you can do is limited as well. i just like doing hot laps and compare my times with people around the world. at one point i was top 50 with the Lotus Elise 111R Tuned around Eiger Nordwand.

You can't customize until you pass all the classes. Then a new class opens up, and tweaking is enabled. It's a good setup into GT5.
