There are currently no Performance Rally events in Northern California. There are tentative plans to get Mendicino Forest event going again (or in Klamath forest), however on Tuesday the board of SCCA (National) voted to no longer put on Performance Rallies (due to insurance problems). Existing events will probably end up with Rally America or NASA but until that's sorted out everything is up in the air.

In the mean time there will be an internationally listed Performance event out of Laughlin NV on 12/10-12. http://www.rallyusa.com/ They are always looking for workers, they give you a lot of goodies and you get real upclose to the cars. There should also be an event out of Reno too next year.

no dirt roads in the bay area, outside the bay area towards the mountains there is a ton, but you have to drive a couple hours

Hit up Platypus on here, there are actually quite a lot of places that you can pretend to be Petter around the Bay.

Well, depends on how far you're willing to drive... There's tons of nice unpaved roads in Lake, Mendocino, and Humboldt County. Might want to check out psoper's Redwood Rendezvous road rally (although I think the grid is full now): https://www.i-club.com/forums/meetings-events-donuts-91/second-annual-redwood-rendezvous-road-rally-adventure-tour-67976/

It looks a little something like this:

PM me and I can let you a know a few good roads (altho if you crash it's your own damn fault, and the roads I drive on don't come with traning wheels or guardrails).

Sign up as a worker for that, the road trip down there is pretty epic and you get to drive out on the stage roads to work, and like Bill said you'll get to see the race cars driven like they're ment to be driven!
