I took a road trip to Oregon since the area I went to I know really well, but that is a little extreme. It was really awesome though - 4 solid days of some of the most amazing dirt roads EVER (IMHO).

yeh, oregon is a bit far for me now. i don't want to get lost in oregon and die in the mountains. i was lost in oregon a few months ago and even my stupid navigation unit did not know how to get back on the main road.

nothing on the forum or news in months. my best buddy is planning on getting another truck for offroading soon. I told him that I really want to do a death valley trip someday.

i'd really love to get an older landcruiser or jeep someday

lately, the club's been doing everything through email.
i keep up the monthly news though since a lot of members are "virtual"...
i'm not sure why but that reminded me of a line from a jay and silent bob movie"fictional characters"

Heh, ok. I wasn't suggesting that you go get lost and die in the mountains. I didn't have a nav unit last time I went up. Just pay attention to where you are going - you know - old fashion-like. I am going up for Christmas but sadly taking our Honda so not roadin' this time. I really want to take my Justy all except the part about driving to/from Oregon in a Justy.
go to the dump.. just do a walk through and remove all the pipes and what not poking out of the ground, then go at it. its hella fun at the dump, you just have to be careful of foreign objects

I have never seen any nice off road areas around that didn't involve cutting fences, then being surrounded by angry police officers.
not around the peninsula anyways

its a paved road where ppl drive (lol) but if you go 152 from watsonville to gilroy (the one that passes right in front of mt madonna), it starts as a 2 lane freeway with ranches and small shops around, see for miles, not really places for cops to hide, then turns into the mountains where mt madonna is and that, as long as you dont get caught behind someone, is sick!!! tight turns, outdoor area, very nice driving. i havent had a chance to drive it the wrx but in my van it was fun so id imagine in a suby its way better! id go on like an early sunday when theirs barely activity and all the ppl who did mt madonna did it on saturday most likely or arent leaving til afternoon/evening
Mt madonna is good hiking and camping btw
