Place to source cheap wheels and tires tomorrow?

I need cheap wheels and some snow / super cold weather biased tires so I can go to tahoe. I brought the stock tires (GR sti btw) to tahoe a few weeks ago and it was a little sketchy to say the least.

As an alternative I could always pay someone and borrow theirs .

Anyway, any suggestions? I don't want to spend much money on this...

roads are clear, drove the summit last night 80-90mph no issues. even if they are i drive on summer tires in blizzard conditions anyhow......with the dumb****s that drive on chains you can only go 30mph anyhow not much can happen.

just drive and you'll be fine.

i bought a set (4) of studded tires off craigslist for 100. Than found someone selling a set of used bbs rims for 500. Put the 2 together and its an unstoppable winter setup. keep checking craigslist especially the snowy towns (siskiyou county, reno / tahoe w, susanville)

I don't even know what its like to drive in the snow on actual winter tires, lol. I've been through some hellish storms that they closed the roads the night before because of the weather and rolled right through on my treadwear 200 summer tires. I just drive slow and stay in the paths the other folks are making.

The 1st 2 years I had my sti i was still living in tahoe, and i live in the county right at the base of echo summit. Driven through tons of **** with no issues, ya some stuff is hard, but if you keep your speed and know when to go slow and when to put the pedal down your got to go. Besides you'll br driving on the highway with a bunch of ******** that dont know wet roads from black ice and will drive 30 mph anyways and if you get in trouble driving that slow you have a lot more to worry about.
