Pitbulls in the media

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?sec...bay&id=7855866

This happened down the street from where I live and Im pretty sick of the San Jose pet mentality. I swear some of these owners dont care what their dogs do or even where they are.

On my way to work daily I see this big 70ish pound brindle mix dog right next to the elementary school wandering around. Sometimes he'll just stand in the middle of the road. Ive never even seen its owner.

Also during the summertime, I see atleast one small pet run over on the street. As a pet lover I gotta tell you it makes my heart sink everytime I see that.

**** these people and **** them making my dogs look bad in the media. Maybe one of these days we can get a law passed that has harsher penalties for bad pet owners.

Man that sucks... better not show the parents this! They already hate the fact that I have a pit bull/border collie mix.

This just happened yesterday in Sac

Pit Bull Attacks Carriage Horse In Old Sacramento, Police Shoot And Kill The Dog
http://www.fox40.com/news/headlines/...0,492416.story

http://www.kcra.com/news/26211618/detail.html
Police said they're looking for the dog's owner, who was seen in the area with a leash in his hand.
Like ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME!?!? How are you going to just let your dog loose and then walk off like nothing happened. People like this are the owners that give Pits a terrible rep!

My wife has has Pits and bread them her entire life and she LOVES them. I never had a problem or anything against them, but i never pictured myself owning one. Well long story short, we sort of rescued one and he has by far been one of the best dogs ive ever owned!

figures it was a homeless person's dog... they shouldn't even be allowed to one! I work down the street from old sac and I see homeless people all the time with dogs (mainly pit bulls) with them without a leash on.

Yeah, i doubt the dog is caught up with it's shots etc....

It's like the whole thing on beaches, they put up signs dogs on leash but they never enforce it and people let their dogs off.............as a result tons of beaches=no dogs at all now.

meh

Here's my red-nose pit Daisy Rae, best dog you could ever ask for. Though we spent a lot of money getting her professional training, mostly to get her accustomed to other dogs and people.

I understand the need for companionship but if you cant put a roof over your head and food on the table for yourself, you really shouldnt own a pet.

Wow, somehow, I'm not too surprised to see pet-lovers in here xD

And now I want a dog! I'll have to wait many years until I have some REAL income...

As for the topic at hand, yes, it is depressing. Almost everything on the news is depressing. Irresponsible dog owners should go to jail and/or be fined if their dog has something to do with an assault...

Read it and I was pretty upset. If those dogs are human aggressive they should be put down along with their owners.
