Pick n' pullin from a wadded STI
Pick n' pullin from a wadded STI
I'm checking with a few junkyards on the inventory of a few wadded STI's.
I was wondering if anybody has any advice on going this route to get a set of Brembo's for my WRX...like how much they should go for, how to check their function before buying, etc.
thanks in advance...

I guarantee you will have a hard time finding any STIs in junk yards. I used to go to insurance auctions all the time and cars like STIs either get bought up to get put back together and sold as salvage title or if too bad to fix get bought by tuner shops to get parted out in house. Junk yard guys are the bottom feeders at the auctions and only take back the cheap older cars that nobody else at the auctions wanted
Your best bet is to keep your eyes out for a set of take-offs Ive seen front/rears go for as low as $1500, I dont even think a junkyard would give it to you for that

Plus the junkyards, since they are bottom feeders will make you pay loads for something, almost what the dealer charges. I wanted to pull out the intercooler on a crashed WRX and they wanted to charge me $400 for it. $150 for the spare tire and such. Screw that, but if you can find guys that don't know the value, go for it
