True, true! I started a thread on DP Review about doing stupid things after a shoot (like leaving a tripod on top of Mount Hamilton) and on guy said is wasn't so bad and replied with this:

"Sorry to hear that, but have you ever dropped a $2000 large format lens and watched it bounce off every rock on it's way to the bottom? That hurts!"

HAHAHA... yes, those little rodents were all over the place at Shoreline when I shot that. All those birds are going to die from their diets... too many french fries. The need less scavenging, and more migrating (preferably to some place other than California). I'm not to crazy about the image either but I do think it's a good example of the detail a DSLR is able to capture. The Barn is actually a composite image. The exposure itself is absolutely impossible as a single shot unless you have a half and half ND filter but even then it would be more trouble than its worth. I exposed once for the barn and once for the clouds, layered them in Photoshop, created a mask, etc.... you know the deal. The Barn shot needs a little more work (I got too happy with the green channel as you can see although I think it looks great when printed). I also have to clone out the lens flare, I like it myself but nobody else agrees with me so out it goes.
