Those are some damn nice pictures. What kind of camera did you take those with and how many megapixels does it have?

Damn, that doesn't sound like a cheap setup. Were those shot from a tripod or were you going "freehand"?

I have a Kodak 4320 and it's 2.2 megapixels but the image quality is nowhere near as good as yours. I use Photoshop 7 to reduce the files to under 52K so that I can post on i-club. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can make sure I'm getting all that I can from my camera? (I think I'm a bit shakey because a lot of my pics come out blurry so i guess a monopod or something would help.)

hints

For low light or best possible sharpness I use a tripod.

Other than that I suggest shooting often. Get a few books from Borders and find out about apeture and shutter speed. Look at other photos and learn why they look good or bad. Composition plays a large role.

I have shot over 7000 photos since september. Lots of trash. Some good keepers. Tonight I shot 50 photos (500meg) I threw some out since I was trying to get exposure for each car.

That's what a 6 megapixel camera looks like?!! Gotta get me one of those someday. For now i have to settle for my 1.3. It takes good pics during the day. Not so great at night. Oh well. At least i got it for a good price.

Hello,

Sweet camera. When the D100 came out, it was listed at $2k (this last summer). Now, some of the cheaper online sources have them for about $1800. But when you look at what you get, it's pretty cheap. This camera is basically an in-between model between typical pro-sumer SLR cameras and the top of the line D1H & D1x cameras.

It's loosely based on the F80 SLR body, but Nikon says almost everything is different.

Great camera. Great pics, too.

HOLY GEEZUS!!! That is easily the best picture I've ever seen in a POST on ANY BOARD... Never seen such clarity and crispness in the pics... didn't even realize it was possible to look so CLEAN and defined!!!

link to hi-res version

I had to really compress this file otherwise it would have been 5meg.

The $2K in the case of DSLRs only covers the body (electronics) You still end up buying Lenses, flash units, tri-pods, monopods, etc. It is pretty expensive but I am hoping to sell more prints from photoshoots and events.
