I paid $200 to charity and all I got was this stupid title... oh, and I'm probably out to sea right now too.

Um....

Firestone Lifetime Alignment for $150 works for me. I go in whenever I want, need, feel bored and get aligned for free. PLUS I have them dial it in the way I want.

Running about -1.2 camber in front -.9 in rear with toe and Caster in specs.

Lucky you, I'll most likely never get Firestone lifetime again for any of my cars. When I had my suspension done on my wrx they didn't honor when I asked them will you let me align it to my specs? Nope.. Really sucks when they dont honor their words

That DOES suck. Sorry to hear that man. I went in last week and told the guy "I had to adjust my coilovers a bit, I just want to check the specs since tires are expensive" He laughed and said "no problem, chive on" when he saw my shirt.

A good list of shops. Here is another.

5 Points
Redwood City on El Camino under Woodside Rd.
it's a good shop.

I went back to doing my own alignments again. It's a bit tedious, but not hard to do and I know it's done right.

I've brought all of my cars to "The Shop" for the past couple of years and I've always had great results and professional service at a very reasonable price. Talk to Matthel and tell him Brian sent you

The only problem is that the OP doesn't want to drive anywhere - he expects to find a custom alignment shop outside his front door, or possibly as far away as the next block.
Notice that he says,"I don't want to drive to the East Bay", since he's afraid to leave the city of San Francisco. I certainly don't count him as a driver, simply a poseur who thinks he's COOL.

You should probably mention that this is not really a viable option for most people. That's either really awesome, or really scary. Most people do not have any idea how to do that, nor any basis of figuring out if it's really "done right." I have done my own alignments in the past after being taught how to do this by my pops many years ago, but still would get it at least checked at a shop. I have had some alignment guys come in and ask what's up since it's already "fine" which is cool, but not always, and it's worth it to get it confirmed or corrected.

Roo - I don't think he said he was incapable or un-able to drive out of SF, but asked if there were any shops in the city. Then, later on, he said he would not mind driving to the Peninsula. I myself have had many occasions recently in my life where having something closer to me was more convenient. Hopefully that does not also out me as a poseur!

Hey JAC Wagon, which firestone do you go to? I've tried the one in Japantown, SF and they only do stock specs. The Mountain View one is better, but the max they'll do is -1 front and as much as they can in the rear.

From the research i've done it really depends on which shop + worker you get. Can you recommend the firestone you go to?

The trick is to get buddy buddy with the supervisor and the tech.

I talked to the tech and manager, who were both tuner guys, and they hooked me up. So I let the tech "get on it" when he took Haley for her "post alignment road test".

He got back and said "fug... shes quick!" I laughed and said thanks.
