People with cats... Need some advice
Hey all,
As some of you know I adopted a second cat a few months ago to be a companion with my other cat which we also rescued from a field when she was about 4 weeks old, this was like 3 years ago. Our older cat can eat any kind of food and be cool with it, digest it just fine, but our new little guy is having issues with a lot of the main stream cat foods, both dry and wet. We don't change his food often and he eats food consistently, but he gets really bad digestive problems and always has runny pooh. We took him to the vet and he's fine but they think he has a food allergy.
My question to you guys is have you experienced this with your cats? What kind of food do you give your little guy? What's good and affordable?
Thanks,
D-

affordable and good do not go hand in hand, if you want your pets to be healthy, you need to feed them something better then meow mix
for my cats, we buy our food at a local feed store, its about $17 for a 5lb bag, and with 3 cats it lasts about 2 weeks.

I had the same issue with our second cat. The vet ended up recommending that we feed the little guy boiled chicken (no skin), cooked white rice, and chicken baby food (sorta like gravy) for a week or so. That pretty much did the trick. I think we're feeding them meow mix indoor now, with the occasional can of tuna juice.

Hello! Your in luck because i am a Veterinary Technician! A few things you can try:
1. Feed a chicken/beef baby food. Yes, i mean Gerber, Beech Nut, Etc...its bland, and easy on the digestive tract
2. Try making regular kibble a soft, moist food....mix kibble with a little WARM water, wait to absorb, and see if he eats it....cats are very picky so dont lose heart if he shows no interest
3. Mix Esibilac (Kitten Milk) with kibble. coats the digestive tract. can be bought at any petstore.
If these do not seem to work, please PM me for more advice-If none of these work, it may be a serious problem that needs a second opinion from a less lazy veterinarian!!!!

I feed my cat Royal Canin, purchased at Pet Food Express. It is a high quality food, and people always comment on how healthy she looks... her coat is really smooth and shiny, minimal shedding, her teeth are always clean, etc.
I find that in general Pet Food Express is a great place to look for pet products. The people that work there are knowledgeable and friendly, and they sell quality products.
