PC > CONSOLE Thread
personally i've never really played any games on consoles besides guitar hero and rpgs, such as final fantasy.
in my opinion computer games like counter strike, starcraft, diablo 2, world of warcraft, etc. etc. are games you can play for years (i can't think of the word, the fun factor lasts longer though), as opposed to most console games where you finish the story line once and set it aside.

How much does it cost to build a gaming PC these days?
How much to buy a 360, PS3, or Wii?
Seriously, I want to play Bioshock. To upgrade my vid card and power supply is going to put me back close to $700. I could buy a 360, Bioshock, and a handful of other games for the same amount of money. This is a stupid argument. They each have there pros and cons. Why does one have to be better than the other?
I smell a troll.

I like them both but my like the pc over all just because i have been gaming more on pc than anything else. You have your advantages and disadvantages on both. To each their own is what i always say. I have been a true FPS gamer since the 90"s and probably will till i die on a pc lol but that doesnt mean i wont go for console games cus of that.

How can a console, I.E. 360 get boring. It's live you are linked to millions of gamers across the world. It's exactly the same as PC gaming. Prior the the latest consoles, the graphics were lacking. Now consoles are so powerful/purpose built.... *uck it, this thread is stupid.

I say get all of them- PC & consoles; which most people already have. BTW, you don't have to get the latest and greatest PC to play all the recent games, just run them with less res and features enabled.
the pc is like the i-phone, everything bundled into one, whereas the console is like a regular phone with some features.
great games created on consoles first eventually get ported to the pc (and vice versa), and for $10 cheaper (average price of a pc game recently released is $50 and drop in price a few months later, whereas a console game for the 360 and ps3 go for $60 and stay at that price for awhile, (i.e compare bioshock on pc vs 360).
Not knocking consoles, they have their role and they're pretty much strictly used for video games (besides the dvd capabilities). Some games like racing games play better on consoles while other games like FPS games play better on pc.
But I prefer the pc over the console because I tend to get bored with the console after playing it for awhile. My Nintendo Wii is barely played anymore and is collecting dust. My 360 is being occasionally played. Games on the pc that I get bored with, I just stop playing them, but I continue to use my Pc. So the pc gets my vote simply because I can still use it for everything that's media and/or games.
And yes I have a gaming pc

For many people, the PC is a solitary machine. It sits in their office or on a desk - great for flight sims, FPSs etc. but it isn't as social as sitting in your living room with a bunch of friends playing PS2 on the TV. Obviously you can have the PC display onto your plasma or whatever, but many people don't.
this is a crappy arguement.
Certain games will always be better on the PC - like RTS and hardcore FPS, games that take a lot of precision control and button management
Certain games will always be better on console - social games like Mario Party, and playing games with live friends
