well my friend managed to get about 200 bucks worth in parking tickets in 2 days...
not sure what county since she lives in so cal. so she is asking me if she can appeal since her car is a junker and doesn't start sometimes... so maybe to play that into the appeal.

there should be directions listed on the notice that is mailed to you explaining how to contest a citation. I used to do it all the time when I went to SF State. If anything you at least get to delay payment on the parking ticket if you don't win.

I see...good luck with that, it's gonna be hard to find anyone that can help because the parking ticket departments are usually so buried in beurocracy noone knows who's even in charge.

Find out whether its a private company or the city that gave her the tickets. In walnut creek there is a private company that hands out tickets like crazy, but you are not required by law to pay them. They can only force you to pay by taking you to court. They won't take you to court unless you owe them a substantial amount of money.
