So I parked overnight in Oakland and my car was a few feet in the red, which I take full responsibility for, but I received 2 tickets for the same offense. One at 8:30am and another at 11:37am.

Any insight if this is legitimate? It seems unfair to be charged twice for 1 violation.

On another note, Oakland PD asked me to roll my window down at a red light to ask where I got my wheels

yeah thats BS, but were they both from the metermaids? meaning were they both printed out on those little printer things or was one hand written, if its hand written its from a cop, either way you should be able to get at least one of them cleared, G'luck!

BTW what wheels?

Yup I got 3 tickets in one day without moving the car and it staying in the same spot. Somewhere either online or on the ticket it says that you can be cited multiple times if you stay parked there.

They were printed and from the same officer. I'll try to get one of them dropped with a form I found on their site. Hopefully that'll lighten the fine.

And the wheels were some curbed up rota boosts haha. I think the cops just wanted to say hi to the 3 girls in my car.

Crap. Well, I'll do it anyways and try my luck. What's stopping officers from just standing there pumping out tickets every minute? Seems to make the ticket amount kind of irrelevant if they can just stack them at will. argh

They can do it but in that short of time it's kind of a dick move. Sounds like someone is trying to get their sgt. off their back and get their ticket count up the easy way.

You should be able to get one cleared.

you can get a ticket every 30 mins if left parked there. most of the time i'm grateful that they didn't give me more than one ticket.

and you have to part 1/10th of a block away from your original spot even if you drove around the block to park at the same spot.

As a former parking enforcer, you can get a ticket for each time bracket you broke. say it's a 2 hour limit zone, you get get one every 2 hours. as for a red zone, i'll have to look it up if you get more then one a day...

Can always challenge it see what a judge would say on it.

go bears but f@ck berkeley
