Falken 912 are nice all weather.$120 a tire not to bad. z rated good for light snow. just dont replace with the potenza piece of **** re92. tire rack or something i am sure will hook you up.

but if you arent looking to go to the snow some of the other gusy can give you some good ideas on wet/dry tires that will work well.

Why do you want all season tires? An STi that is limited only to all season tires is crippled year round. The STi deserves a good summer tire for decent handling - and dont forget that a good summer tire will outperform an all season in the rain. You will be much happier having a good dry handling tire.

If you need do go to the snow, buy a cheap set of rotas (preferably used) with some winter tires as a second set. This is the best way to go.

so you guys usually just buy a set of tires and then have it mounted somewhere?

Well, in the winter, i go up to tahoe practically every weekend...

i see what you mean though. i guess i am in the market for a second set of wheels for zee winter.

i guess this also brings up the question - what is a good summer tire?

It is true that all seasons hold back an STi during dry weather. That said not everyone enough cash for 2 sets of rims/tires or to swap which tires you have mounted 2x a year. In that case I say go with toyo proxes4. They have been rock solid for me in snow, ice, rain, wet thunderhill etc.

I normally go to AIM tires at sears point to puchase/mount mine.

On the other hand, I'm not qualified to really recommend good dry tires but if you are getting 2 sets of tires, I suggest a spare banged up set of rims and some Bridgestone Blizzaks (if you spend as much time in Tahoe as you claim).

Yeah, dude. It is worth it if you like to have fun in your car. This way you can drive the hell out of your summer tires March - November and have ultra confidence driving through a blizzard in Tahoe December - February with a good winter tire.

I have the stock BBS with Sumitomo HTRZ III for summer and a set of Rotas with Avon Tech M550 all seasons for winter. The all season tires were just 'ok' for Tahoes ice, Im considering moving to some dedicated snow tires for the Rota winter set - nothing compared to the Michelin Alpins or Hankook w404s I had on my old wrx, it was amazing! AWD + dedicated winter tires =

Good luck with your decision.
