It's cool that everything went pretty smoothly. Sold my car on Wednesday night (deal closed by 9:30PM). At the same time I was scheduling a test drive for Saturday morning. After a 10 minute test drive down 280 I made an offer. He took it. I was in another wagon by 12PM Saturday. So I was Impreza-less for about 62 and a half hours.

I hope we'll see you up at the Rallycrosses next year.
The hood scoop is blocked off because the car doesn't need it. If you open it, all it does is collect rainwater and dirt.

A week of owning the car and I have done the following:
- Installed a 17mm rear swaybar
- Conversion of pedals to WRX pedal set (the originals were worn out)
- Installed a cargo net in the hatch
- Installed my Momo shift ****
- Installed my STi CF shift map decal (those things are $20 at allsubaru.com
)
This week:
- Leather shift boot conversion
Future:
- WRX/Momo steering wheel
- 98 RS wheels. I was about to buy some off of CL but the guy didn't respond back

Sounds like a good start. Why are you putting on the RS rims? Because they're gold? I switched from the OEM 15"s to the WRX 16"s so I could get BFG KDWS's, and the 16"s in general are a definite improvement. They're pretty light too. I don't know much about the RS rims though.
If you want, I have a set of 17" ASA JS1's with shaved BFG KD R1s on them. The tires are nearly worn out, but they have a couple of autocrosses or trackdays left on them. I use the Miata as a track car now though, so I don't need them, and I'd be willing to let them go for relatively cheap.
Other mods you might consider:
Amsoil 2-stage or K&N airfilter
Better brake pads. The OEM ones are designed more for long life than for stopping fast.
As for me - I caught a rock when I was leaving the Jean rallycross site and it cut my right inboard CV boot. All the CV grease spewed out and now I have a shot joint and a big mess in my engine bay. Bleah. Off to SoSC to get a new axle in the morning. I really should put on that skidplate.

Hoche,
Mainly because the RS's are gold. But they are also 7" wide instead of 6.5". I definitely want 16s next. Thanks for the offer on the ASA's.
I'd like to change the pads soon. Do you have drum brakes in the rear? I read that some people to conversions to disc brakes on the rears. Only a handful of 96 OBS's had discs in the back.
Good luck on the new axle and thanks for the tips.
