Yes def, but wider range of library isnt always the best thing. If you are trying to listen to a specific sound, you get a lot of other types of music even in the same genre mixed in there and kind of throws off the groove. I havent used slacker in a while because I told myself I should listen to all the music I download lol. When I get a good playlist streaming on pandora, its usually the **** though and just makes my music collection grow rapidly.

It's free - there will be ads. Who do you think is paying for the servers/bandwidth/etc??

I get loads of joy with ~300GB of MP3's, a wall of CD's and a pile of Sony Discmans from the 80's.

Maybe that's just because I used it regularly then, but it seems like it's lower quality audio streams - or maybe it's just how my equipment has changed. I still have a few stream rips from those days, and they play nice.

I know a few people that use Rdio, also a pay service, and love it.

Otherwise, try P!r@t3 B@y.
I think that if one is not willing to manage their own media, a paid service is the way to go. Free/ad driven things always follow this cycle: awesome!-->crappy-->better when you pay but still crappy-->replaced by next free service that will suck soon-->lather/rinse/repeat.

Slacker radio, if you dont upgrade every hour or so there is some "commercial" other than that pretty enjoyable. unlimited skipping if you upgrade, 6 skips per hour for each station if you are on free version

Buy Pandora One. I figure personal stations, unlimited music and no commercials is well worth $3/month.

Anyone ever been able to make a second Pandora account? I have two email addresses, so I figured why not make a second account? Well, when you sign out there is no "register" option, only a "sign in" button. Sneaky bastards preventing me from being a sneaky bastard!

EDIT: Got it! Had to log out and then reset everything. Hellooooo 80 free hours (120 actually since I have 3 emails but don't remember the password to one, but you don't need to access the email account for any reason).

I registered two e-mail accounts under Pandora, but just a heads-up: if you hit the limit on one account, your other account will be blocked too. But if you don't hit the limit, you can switch between the two accounts to maximize hours. Found out the hard way one month.

No way! It must embed some cookie or something somewhere. I had to literally reset and delete everything browser-wise until it'd let me make a second account. The first one is maxed out and the second one is playing now. I'll keep that in mind though, thanks!

So it looks like even if you do make a second account while the first one is at the limit, it'll play when you first make it, but then it'll be maxed out next time you open it. Makes me wonder what pandora has installed on my computer

It is a new month now though! So I now have my computer account and iPhone account
