OT: AT&T Wireless + AIM SMS, logging off?!?!
ARGH!!! I have tried to log off of AT&T's AIM/SMS service but it just won't let me. I've sent the blank message to address 4647 about 10 times and each time I get the "You have logged off of AIM" response... and on AIM my nickname remains :-/ (With the little wireless icon)
Of course when I called AT&T Wireless Services they have no clue as to what I'm talking about
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

Unless I misunderstand what you are inferring, I don't think this would work. The phone is just an SMS client. Yes there is an MMode AIM login. But I'm not talkin about that. I'm talking about the SMS<->AIM gateway.
Obviously, it must go something close to this:
phone<->ATT SMS Server<->AIM Server<->AIM Client
Even if I turn my phone off, the resulting SMS from people sending me messages get stored at ATT and forwarded to me when I turn my phone on. What I need is to get the ATT SMS Server to realize that it should no longer try to keep me logged into the AIM Server. Sending the messages to 4647 is supposed to tell the SMS gateway to log me off... but it doesnt

Is your nickname listed as offline with the mobile icon still there? If this is the case, that just means that if someone tries to send you a message to your nickname even if it is indicated offline, you'll receive the message on your phone. The only thing you have to "log in" for on your phone is to send someone else on AIM a message from your phone.
However, if your nickname remains listed as online, I don't know what's up.
