OT: projection t.v. shipped on its side?

Hey guys,
This is totally off topic, but I was hoping one of you may know. I am buying Salty's 52" rear-projection t.v. this weekend and am trying to figure out how to get it home. A van I can borrow can only fit the t.v. if I lay the t.v. on its side. Does anyone know if it is safe to lay a projection t.v. on its side, or will that damage the internal components. I've never owned a projection t.v. before so I don't know. Any help would be great.

I wouldn't The jet's get all f*d up. Keep it right side up. Just get a pickup truck and use some rope and towels to keep the rope from scratching the TV. I took home a 50" from milpitas to san jose that way.

it's used from a fellow i-club member. He seems like a nice guy, but I don't think he'll do home delivery for me.

Just find a friend of a friend, that has a pickup

You can get a u haul truck for around $30, not a bad deal.

Do not place that tv in any other position then standing up. Any medium jar or weird position can knock the guns out of alignment, which means you gotta have a repairman come out to put them back into correct alignment.

You bet I still want it! I will buy that t.v., and I will get it home! Even if I have to push the damn thing home on its rollers!
