My wife recently purchased some items from online, and they would give her lame excuses about not having it in stock and dragging the info around, and so she asked for refunds because they do not have it in stock, but then the people would stop responding to her emails of request to refund. And it turns out to be a site that is non-existance, what can I do to get her money back.

Yeah, if it's online, then just file with your credit card. If you used a debit card, you basically have no chance of getting your money back.
Also, when you're done, you can inform the BBB to prevent other potential customers from falling into the same trap. Also, inform your wife to use the BBB when researching an unkown website or business.

Maybe debit cards have gotten better, but I remember when if you ever had money pulled out through a debit, it was gone forever.
