One good reason not to speed

Not to over look the obvious reason of "its not safe"

Insurance rate before 3 tickets:

about $500 every six months

Insurance rate after 3 tickets:

$2200 every six months

Luckily my agent is cool and worked the numbers for me and got it down to $1600 every six months. And it took a year before the insurance found the tickets. So just 2 years to go till they drop.

Lets just say I don't speed anymore. Now I just need to go to a track to get the speed out of my system. I am a lead foot.

Might as well hand them your wallet every other week. Insurance companies just take everyone's money and give us a fat as they go to the bank.

I agree but some insurance companies need to get their heads out of asses... I tried to change insurance companies from USAA to another cheaper company when i moved back to CA from NC. I've never been in a accident and only got a ticket once for a radar dectector in Virginia.

When i move back to CA after 4 years im automatically an "unexpierienced driver" and most companies want to charge me $550 a month.

So... i call up USAA whom im already with and who mainly deals with federal employee's... I beleive 90% of it's customers are military and federal.

Then they asks me: "are you a student because you can get a student discount?" WTF!?!?!?!?! a student discount? not to bash any current students in this board because i know a lot of you are paying your way and it's hard but please!!!! Every student i knew and most i still know where eating out of daddy's pocket and they tell me that crap...

Meanwhile i'm working 120hrs a week at about $1.30 and hour. No discount for me!

Freakin insurance agencies...I was with one from my first car until last year....stupid lazy bastards cost me a crap load of money. They wouldn't support me trying to get my car paid for because a car ran a red light and I hit them.....lost that car..no car for 6 damn months. Then when some suv slammed into me they sent me too a crappy body shop that i went back to probably 10 times and they couldn't get the paint right. car looked like ***. So I finally switched to Mercury. Got a cool *** insurance guy. Someone tried to steal my civic and they hooked me up. Got everything fixed and got me a better deck than what I had that wasn't even officially on the market yet....alpine 9815....long time ago.

I pay a little more than I probably would somewhere else...I pay $341 every two months. But the agent is cool and very helpful and they handle their stuff..you know. Last time I checked I have no points but I should check to make sure the traffic school for a califoria stop went through. WHen I signed up I was under 25. accident and two tickets on my record. I told Dave/agent...that I was turning 25 in a couple months and all the points would drop in the next month or three and he hooked me up with the rate for no points and 25...and even gave me the good driver discount.....dropped my insurance on my civic at the time like $60 a month.
