Cool One angry ebay opponent

So i got a dell laptop in may.
3 weeks ago, there was an accident, and the motherboard got fried. Dell wouldn't warranty that, so i'm SOL.

I found an auction on ebay for a working pull right, so i waited until the last few minutes to bid, trying to secure a winning bid. Well, i got outbid, so i bidded higher and higher, and eventually lost. I bid $400, and ran out of time while trying to bid $450. I was trying to win here, i wanted this motherboard. Well, i lost. and got this e-mail from the winning bidder:

"you Mother ****en B@stard y the **** u rise auction price if you know you gonna lose you ****en ***g0t!!!!!!!??? Fake *** IT i need this board more than you......"

I also got an e-mail from the seller saying i got a section chance if i want to buy it at the $400 i bidded... I decided to call dell to see what one was new, and found that to be $444 shipped... so i bought it...

I also replied to the email above with:

"LOL

Cause i'm not a HS kid who can't afford $405 motherboard. I am willing to pay that amount, I see that you werent and I'm given a second chance by the seller.

Better Luck Nexy Time Kid...

-Joltdude"

And so i come home tonight from class to see this...

"You can heave chunks for all i care. youre the most dumbest ebayer ive ever
seen dont you know for that price you might as well buy a new one off dells
tech site for $489.99 + shipping
common dont be stupid u know you raised it!!!!! AS far as i go i already
made a deal with the seller for 280.00 plus shipping so were cool. and for
your information i'm 25 not in HS i have a degree in computer technology and
i'm also the MIS of CompUSA Corperate Devision My certifications in IT are:
A+, C-Tech,MCP,MCSA,MCSE,(i know i could of just said MCSE but i wanted too
blow you off my shoulder) CCNA,NET+ and im currently going for my CCNP So to
Further Conclude....... BITE ME YOU ***** *** BIDDER TRYING TO BEAT AUCTIONS
AT THE LAST MINUTE!!!!!! YOU CANT BEAT ME IM HAVE TOO MUCH T1 THROUGHPUT FOR
YOU!!!!!!!!!"

My reply to mr e=thug was:

"I was actually not bidding to raise the price. I was actually bidding. But
thanks for being such a highly certified computer wiz. You REALLY needed
this motherboard, well you got it.

stop being an interweb thug bro...

i'm just a working student trying to get to where you are (one day
hopefully), who spilled coffee on his new laptop. I've opted to not pay $400
to the seller since i called dell today about a new one, and they have it
listed for $399, so i went that route instead. I just really wanted to fix
my laptop, i just kept trying to out bid you. Whatever, it's over.

-Gagan"

And it turns out that he's not an e-thug at all:

"Well Since you put it that way My apologies for being such a DICK im just
upset that i stuck with this large bill for this board i'm just trying to
find a deal for this laptop of a client of mine who's trying me out for the
first time and i want to sort of impress him with my skills. its been 3
weeks in search for a replacement board my client is getting frustrated with
me and i dont know what to do. about two days ago there was an auction that
ended at 155.00 for the same board i was so pissed i didnt remember to
participate because of my job so i was determind not to let that happen
again no matter what. but i guess im now paying for more than i barganed for
which is not cool.
Anyway again i give you my apologies its really nothing personal i was just
upset the way the auction went im actually still waiting on the seller to
grant me that deal so... if he doesnt lower it then by all means work it out
with him infact i'll even recomend you for the purchase i mean its only fair
for you since i very much doubt my client would pay me $500+ for a laptop
worth 900. its just too much money so i'll look out for you in the mean time
take care and good luck.

John"

So I left it on good terms with:

"I've already told the seller that i'm not interested any longer. It's all
yours dude. Best of luck getting your client that board cheap, there really
isn't much of them around. I've decided that I need to bit the bullet, and
just pay up for my misfortunes.

One thing i've learn working retail all my teen years, still work retail, is
to not promise a customer anything. I hope things work out, and don't worry,
i'm just laughing my *** off over here, i'm not upset about this.

Later,

-Gagan"

THE END... (Someone else can cliffnote it... I'm still laughing too hard...)

I would suggest possibly an anger management course to round out his resumé.

Dude... when someone emails you something like that, the best type of thing to reply with is "I hope you die".

And if he responds again... say:

"I hope your entire family dies".

And then ignore him from that point forward.

Great story, I share your pain because ebay is so FRUSTRATING!!!
I was trying to buy a dell computer through ebay and the day after I won the auction, I mailed a check. I waited over 2 weeks and the seller still has not received the payment. I double checked the address and it was correct. The next day I changed my mind about the auction and just said forget it, I will order the computer through dell directly, he was like if you want the computer you can paypal me. WHY DIDNT HE GIVE ME HIS PAYPAL ADDRESS IN THE BEGINNING??? Probably wanted to save on fees. AARGH!!!! EBAY = HAIR LOSS

AH! the man preaches the truth, I shall do this from now on lol... so much better than wasting brain cells typing a reply.

Also, you gotta be careful on calling people HS kids. Especially on an online forum where some people type ghetto just to save time, b/c if it turns out he's like a millionaire in his 20's...makes you look like a dumbtard...
