OMG want to but can't

So...I have this crazy hinkering to draw something. I dunno what...and I dunno why. But the greatest part is...I can't draw for anything! I've never been an artistic type. But my hand just wants to grab a pen and draw something.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

BTW, I'm bored.

If you want to draw then draw. You don't have to be good at it to do it. It doesn't hurt to practice.

this is true. I dunno, I start drawing, then I get discouraged when what I'm doing doesn't come out the way I saw it in my head. Maybe I should practice more though, that's a great point.

Just do it, man. Who cares how it looks? At least you can get your jollies, and who knows, maybe if you do it enough, you'll get good at it, right?

if you can see it you can draw it.

you being a photographer you have an edge up. take a photo and reproduce it.

Outlines are for cartoons, if you want realistic, use shading. Buy some charcoal or a basic set of drawing stick thingies. Buy a pad of newsprint and draw figures of people, or have someone pose for you

Apples are fun to draw. Like in photography, you want dark and light areas so use an eraser for highlights and stuff.

just draw what you see, youll get better, people arent born artists, i dont think.

Im an Animation/Illustration student at SJSU, and believe me nothing ever truly comes out the way you see it in your head. You got the right attitude for drawing, now all you gotta do is just draw. Speaking from experience, if your drawing something because you want to and not to impress someone else, it most likely will be allot better than you thought.

Ha, I'm an Alumni. Tell Bunny, John Clapp, Courtney, Ruben I said hi! If you have John Clapp, ask him if it's true that you should be in the top 3 of every class you take! Fire it up, your a Shrunkenhead now!

SubyN00by, draw self portraits, do several, make faces in front of a mirror and try to copy it! And make sure you finish each. If you mess up, keep drawing on top of it until it's right or until the whole page is black with ink!
