I worked as his 1st A.D. through his early years at Propaganda (and with David Fincher as well). Couldn't agree with you more! He is a great editor and a luke warm director. There were so many cuts in 'The Rock' I was dizzy!!!
He is the illegitimate son of a very well known 'old school' director looking for approval. But, even with his mega-buck USC film school credit he's miles short of notable!!!

I just worked the screening for this movie last night in SF.
O M F G that was such a badass amazing movie. Puts the cgi of many other movies to shame. I'm not gonna ruin anything but all I'm gonna say is you MUST see it, even if you don't like Transformers its more than worth seeing.
