what do you mean by "track"??? 1/4 mile straight??? If so then maybe AT would help, i wouldn't know. If its an actual track with turns, etc - you want MT for sure. some things cannot be done with AT.

im talking drag strip yes
im still wondering if this is gonna be worth it... i know the 5spd wont hold up, so AT or 6spd, and 6spd is 2 much...
so i think the 4EAT for drag purposes is the way 2 go :-) come on you 4eat guys.. chime in wth

That's a good deal for the new AT... AT is an extremely high differential... and take a look at the differentials on the two trannies. Besides, what's the life on an MT anyways?
Regarding track times.... the 1/4 mile is pretty good with AT. With a brake lock with the torque converter you can easily jump the line at 3.3k rpm and skip the turbo lag.

Considering I haven't been dyno tuned I'm probably not putting down that much power. And as far as driving, I'll beat both your cars at auto-x. And for drag racing, gee, brake/gas go. No skill involved in that.

I guess you changed your opinion and now the only thing that takes skill is autox.... Also how can you not be tuned? You've had the same setup for practically a year now.

FWIW, there's nothing wrong with road tuning, but, like dyno tuning, they shouldn't be done alone...
The best is to have your car dyno AND road tuned, OTW your car might ping...
