Well I wanna piece a system together. I already have a Grex sandwich plate. Plus I want to be able to create my own bracket and place it where it would most be beneficial. I do like the mishimoto oil cooler location in front behind the grill.

behind the grill is probably the best spot, unless you wanna open up a fog light and place it there, but then there would be no room for brake ducts if you ever wanna make it

Mishimoto now sells OIL cooler kit for our cars..
They make it for the following platforms
2001-2005 STI (MMOC-WRX-01)
2008-2014 STI (MMOC-STI-08)
2008-2014 WRX (MMOC-WRX-08)
around 500$+ for the kit. The kit with sandwich plates that have a thermostat in it cost about 50$ more though.

@Funks, technically Mishimoto always has sold kits, you just couldn't order them up as a "kit", you had to piece them together.
@Hide, I have the Mishimoto setup on Lucky, my '01 down at the other house, also ran the same setup on the 4Runner, before switching it to 5-speed. Actually then put it back on the 4Runner using the output of the factory 3.0/3.4 cooler. Great system, easy set-up, big bonus on both rides was the ease of making a bracket that suited my needs.
Pretty sure I even mentioned I combined the leftover bracket options with a couple 1/4" wide drilled plate bicycle rack parts to mount my Rigid Floods when they went on the 4Runner.
Do it man, it's a great benefit to keeping things in better operating condition and better engine and oil life. I know it helped w my stuff and the only reason the truck isn't getting something is I already have the tow package which gives a big factory one as an option.
*I think the size I used (and recommend you look at since the FRS/BRZ also uses it) on all mine was the universal 19. I can't remember the size on that B&M one I gave away, IIRC something like 5"x"8"X1" but it didn't work as well as the 19.
Put it right behind the grille, but do not dead-center it in the opening or you'll be fighting heat-soak conditions with your A/C and cooling. Put it just at the bumper support a little to the side, at least 1-2" off of the A/C receiver area.
