Oil change fundraiser?

What do you guys think? I have a few questions....

So I'm in the red cross club here at school and we're trying to raise some money for the club and what not. everyone does car washes and it's pretty common and unless there's girls in bikini's, i doubt we'll generate too much money.

i was thinking of doing oil changes with my buddies and ask for donations. If they bring their own oil/filter, we'll dispose and change the oil for them.

A few questions I have though, i'm going to have to find a list of engine capacity for oil, which will be pretty hard if i don't have wireless at wherever i'm doing it. I might like ask kragen's if we can browse their books for like a set price maybe.

Another thing, i know all cars are different, especially their oil changes, am i right? I'm pretty sure most of the japanese cars are the same, but what about american or german cars? my friend has a bmw, the only thing different was the plaecment of the oilfilter in a housing...

lastly, will people actually come? would you?

We can probably knock out oil changes in less than 15-20 mins if we don't completely drain the oil, ie let the oil drain for hours...but i dont know how people will feel leaving their cars in the hands of 20 year olds.

plus theres the issue of liability... if you guys screw up somebodies car on accident, the cost of fixing that car will most likely exceed the revenue you made from the whole deal...

I'd recommend this. Do a decent wash, a mild clay bar, and a wax, a car vac, maybe some other basics. I've had so many people with the "OMG" reaction from just a mild clay bar on my car when they feel my paint. Might work?

i dont think you want the liability of doing oil changes
if anything happens to someones engine after you do the oil change they could sue you unless you have them sign a waiver first.

id have to agree with the liability issue others have brought up. if anything goes wrong, there goes all your money.

I already told Mike this, but Jamba Juice has this fundraising program. I think they sell Jamba Juice mugs or something. Worth the money.

Are there any auto-x coming up soon? Have a BBQ at an auto-x. There's no "real" food there other than a roach coach which comes sometimes.

That's not a bad idea. Hot Dogs, Burgers, and BBQ chicken or something. All really simple items to prepare and you can get a lot for a few bucks.
