Guess what came in the mail for me today?





Now I can measure paint thickness before I start working on the car to make sure there is still clear left. Or able to inform the potential used car buyer if there were any previous repair to the panel or not.

I got the Defelsko PosiTector 6000 FN2 along with the Posisoft Software to download the measurements from the gauge.

Here is a high level paint survey... Took 20 measurements per panel and 5 per jam. It takes about 45 minutes to survey and prep the report. A MUCH more detail report can be done of course.

Of course I had to fake some of the numbers in this report...

Thanks! I'll be taking some more reading this weekend and writeup a comprehensive report and maybe take couple more samples of other cars.
