*slow golf clap and then progressively goes into a standing ovation* Kudos to Troy Smith. Way to show us that ice cold water runs through those veins! He could have easily blown up for more TDs than that if it weren't for the penalties. Yea, I think we got the Smith we wanted at QB. People can say "..but...but it's the RAMS!" The Rams defense actually isn't too shabby this season.

+1 Troy Smith... Sorry Alexa... but I think ur NFL career is finished with the 49ers.

IF SINGLETARY SOMEHOW PULLS TROY (especially that stupid half comment about 'troy needs to do things better') for Alexa, Singletary needs to be fired and examined for retardation.

Troy is fast, has an awesome arm, extends plays, and damn I sure do enjoy watching the 49ers for ONCE, for ONCE after Mike Martz left, to see extension down the field!

Technically Alex Smith threw for 309 yds, 3 TD's & 2 INT's earlier this season against the Eagles.

Not saying I would rather have Alex, but he has done similar numbers in the past. That being said though, there are still a TON of penalties that the Niners NEED to ELIMINATE in order to play up to their potential. Troy Smith was actually robbed on several TD's & more yardage due to all the stupid penalties.

As of right now it looks like we finally found a legit QB. However, I still would like to see us draft another QB in the draft and dump Alex Smith (well ... not resign him).

I don't want to get to ahead of ourselves but it seems as though today was a hugeeeee turning point. It was so intense, im just stoked to continue the push. I'm gonna say niners back in the favored position for NFC West

Alex's career high is 321, so Troy has already out thrown him.

Do you mean regular season or ever? Nate Davis did start in Pre-Season.
