Drivers forced to stick to one helmet design | Formula 1 | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1

I'm all for this. I'm tired of drivers, not just Vettel, changing their lid design every race.

I'm not too bothered by this rule. This just means all of the drivers better choose wisely.

Why does it matter at all? I liked the helmets changing. The reason stated in the article is that is is so fans can recognize their "hero" There is two ****ing cars per team you really cant tell who is who? This is another BS rule by F1 trying to regulate everything. Why not focus on **** that matters.

But even then, the different designs stuck to similar colors. Hamilton's helmets were usually white, Rosberg's helmets were usually black. Vettel's helmets had the most radical changes going from black to bronze to cream. But his teammate's helmets never really changed.

I really think it's a silly move.

McLaren-Honda have this weekend to fix this, or else no way they are going to be a decent team.

I have an easier time figuring who's who with drivers that stick to one designed helmet. Since I don't remember who's got the red T bar and who doesn't, I look for the helmet straight away. It wasn't bad when it was just Vettel changing designs, but now it seems like almost 50% of the drivers are doing so.
