If you are gong down into the $50 budget range; look at Audio Technica M30.

I SERIOUSLY encourage people to try the Gemini HSR-1000 which is a rebadged Takstar Pro 80...

Almost ALL reviews and users at Headfi say these are superior and I can seriously tell you I've never heard ANY headphones better for anywhere NEAR the price.. $44 at Amazon right now.

Hmmmm okay, I have no clue what my fat fingers were doing yesterday Yup, found their mention on Head-Fi. Apologies and I stand corrected. Though I am curious about what "ANY headphones" the OP is saying they are better.

Anyway, $44 is not a whole of scratch and I have certainly spend more just to try out a headphone only to return it or sell it on the forums.

Your call, you need to figure out what you want to spend and what you can/cannot live without. Head-Fi will be a better source if you want multitude of opinions and existing impressions if you are still on the fence

I own the Senn Amperior version and that thing has survived some serious abuse.

EDIT: Holy ****...just buy this and call it a day. I need another headphone like a hole in my head, but I will probably jump on this buy.

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on these. The only thing that is putting me off from going all in is the "on-ear" part rather than "over-ears". Cause I do want comfort as well.

Description bit...

In late 2013 without any sort of fanfare, Beyerdynamic quietly released the DT 1350 CC. Featuring larger earpads, a newly designed headband and a 2.5m coiled cable allowing for greater freedom of movement, the CC aims to fix the comfort and usability issues in its predecessor.
...and one of the shoppers impressions...

have both as well and my face lift version came with bigger ear pads. Ear cups are different too slightly. The older ones have the cap with the white logo and the new ones have no cap and the logo etched in it. The new version is significantly more comfortable.
which is why i am giving these another look

anybody interested in a set of Hybrid Audio Clarus 6.5 speakers for their car? Would fit nicely with the audiophile profile!

AKG K553 is a small update/evolution of K550. I think MassDrop managed to do an early pre-main-release group buy since they seem to have a good relationship with AKG. K550 reviews will be able to give you more than sufficient idea of their flavor.

Since it's my only amp, I don't have anything else to compare it to. But overall, I'm very happy with the setup. I thought things were very good before the Sophia Princess upgrade, and then my mind got blown after rolling the tube. My mind got blown away again with the HD650. The roll off, soundstage, timbre just sounds so natural.
