The wildlife up there is amazing too! I have never seen a wild tarantula in CA until yesterday. Almost hit like 5 squirrels, a flock of quail, a turkey vulture and almost ran over that tarantula.
Yeah the road itself is a blast and dangerous enough on it's own. But what makes it truly dangerous are the bikes, the RV's, the large trucks, motorcycles, other idiots crossing double to "touge" the road and the site seers going 8mph. When you get a clear run and you drive sane... it's a blast. We took a slow cruise down late last night and it was BEAUTIFUL. I'm usually going to fast to notice so it was nice to get to see the lights.

If everyone does what they're suppose to it's not that bad. LOL!

I drove quimby 5 times and mt. hammy once in the last week with out killing anyone. LOL>

Oh... and thanks again for everything. You were a huge aid to the event!

Actually, as a cyclist, I understand why we would pick Mt. Hamilton to bike up. Pretty much the same reason we would drive up in our cars. As for being in the middle of the road, cyclists have full right to take the lane. Just imagine how sketch it is for them for a car to drive by from that blind corner. I've had my nerves rattled by motorists several times on a bike and have often had to stop to settle down. I tend to empathically take it real easy when I see a cyclist up there. Maybe too much so. LOL.

One of the first times I've driven that road in daylight so..... I was going the whole time... WAIT THAT WAS THERE? Strange feeling you get when you've driven the road sooo many times.

For what? I have a license. I have A LOT of family that works for the IRS and there was no way they would let me sell without one. Plus I needed one to distribute to vendors such as Carmods Australia etc.
