just a side note, my MY06 wrx got better mpg with catless turboback, headers, vf34, fuel pump, external wastegate. Most of the reason why our fuel economy sucks is the emissions that are put on it.
they just need to figure out how to get the emission items to do their jobs, and still let the cars breathe properly.

Like duh? Did anyone see this one coming? Obviously, Honda is already almost there. Not much of a huge thing IMO. People have been RND'ing different ways to save environment (If there is actually anything we can do, I don't believe it =P) and there have been tests with water as the main component of engines, etc. So I don't see this as a big thing. People have been working on this for years. Honda was smart to pop out the hybrid, which is why they aren't the ones in trouble, its GM that was slow and should crumble cuz of it.

yes it is!! I ger 27mpg on my built engine on the freeway. Perople like cars that get great performance. Likw the corvette, gtr, and many cars that sell like crazy. Whats gonna happen to ALL the people that buy a Benz? They don't need to target the customer that want a car that is good on gas. People buy a benz for a reason. They need to droop this issue ad let us the hell alone!

My point is F this bull crap, if people want to buy a car that gets bad mpg let them do it. My point is it also is going to kill so many jobs for all the people that provide performance parts. Also For cars like lamborghini and ferrari who make cars for the rich and for true car enthusiast. How the hell are they gonna make a car that is fast and built how they are now if is going to ger 35mpg. They CAN'T make this happen cause of cars like this. I hope this is better

i understand your concern for the performance industry, but you have to realize the only reason these toys are around is because there exists a market for it. there are people willing to pay, and the laws allow it, so it's done. once things change (like they have been for the history of man) consumers and the industry changes along with it. so i wouldn't worry too much about joblessness, as the talent seems to go around. they will find jobs. and like i said earlier, its only a matter of time before we start making cars with great mpg or even electrical. how many times do we have to use TESLA as the perfect example. sure its not practical at this point to think tesla is the solution, but they are blazing the trail, and that's good enough.

I understand what you are saying about the Tesla, it's a great car but how can that Tesla get me and my 6 family members to my house in Lake Tahoe? Right now it can't I have to use the 2008 Chevy Tahoe we have. I think a huge suv like the Tahoe that gets 20mpg on the way up to Tahow with 6 people is great! I think it can be made better, but 35mpg on a suv is not going to happen. And If it did it would loose ther power the car needs to take 6 people and the boat up to Tahoe. I do understand that thimes and things change, but ever since the car cam we have had racing and performance. I don't think that well ever change.
BUT we also have to think about the earth, we do need cars that are better on gas. Thants why I have a honda fit. I feel that I do my part, and the fit is how we do it.
