Noise when applying brakes
Noise when applying brakes
When I press the brake pedal I can hear the caliper making a creaking noise. Literally sounds like a creek , like ur walking on a bad floorboard. It is coming from the brake side when I press the brake pedal continuously it creaks every time.
I haven't changed pads or rotors in 3 yrs, pads have about 40 percent left, no pulsation on rotors. Any ideas?

Your caliper pins might need to be regreased. In the 100k miles I've had my car it only happened to the front driver's side once, so I don't think it's a common problem though. Just an idea.

just throwing it out there, subaru rotors are known to squeak, grind, and similar noises but once they get driven a little the noise goes away. does it happen continuously as you drive or only the first couple times you apply the brakes?
Just perform basic brake job 1st and see if that help.
I would change and bleed brake fluid. Regrease brake pins with silicon paste. Regrease between brake pads and shims using brake grease. Inspect for damage around caliper piston seals.

Ya i was thinking that...I've had the car for 3 yrs and am deciding its due time to get new rotors and pads anyway. The previously owner had it for 29K miles, Im at 47K and 7 yrs old on the same pads and rotors
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

Yep, probably just brake dust in there and dried out if there was anti-squeal, and likely could just be worn and getting to that point where they need to be replaced. Best bet is to just pull them and see what's going on.
