True.
Although i would imagine you would have to be full throttle going through puddles for prolonged periods of time for it to actually suck up water.
I say this because i used to run a CAI on my old Integra which was literally inches off the ground, with no fender liner, in weather similar / worse than this and never had any issues.

Surface streets weren't much better this morning, Arques was kinda damp

Few Dashcam videos, it finally captured something interesting

237

Central

Arques (no sound for ~45sec due to a work phonecall)
Nice, I use the same cam in a couple cars. Turn off your speed display.

Probably lol. Some of the stories on Nasioc out of the east coast are frightening

Ehh I have seen it happen. I remember one fellow in Campbell years ago when it was flooded off Winchester near 280, bombing through the intersection, into the puddle and coasted to a stop. I stopped to help, motor would not turn over. I have talked to a few people over the years who have had this happen. Myself, I cannot imagine driving in the rain with something like that because I worry too much, which is one of forty-seven reasons that I run a stock airbox, but hey, whatever.

Have had AEM in my last car and the one before. The Civic SI had the CAI literally a few inches off the floor. Currently have AEM in the STI. Have driven with a CAI for years with no problems. It's all about being mindful of surroundings.

Funny - I actually drive that route on Central every day. Sometimes take 85 if I leave late, or 101 -> 237. In training this week near 1st Street/Montague. Maybe a 9-10 mile drive for me, but take nothing but surface streets. 87 is a nightmare with good weather, no way in hell am I dealing with it in this weather.

Paul walker ruined his motor driving his car with a cai through a big *** puddle at BJ's restaurant. Had to drop in a new 2jz. True story. I was there.

I have the same tires. They are awesome in the rain. I had the RE11's and they gripped well in the rain too.

I have a short ram and the FMIC is sealed so it can go under water no problem, if not I would have a vac leak.
