Unhappy "no work because of rain"

About 6 months ago i decided to put down my artist supplies, get out of retail and go into the general Constuction biz. It's been a good move so far. I'm making a lot more money and i don't have to do customer service anymore.

But because we have had so much "constant" rain most of our in-doors jobs have been drying up. This is my second day in a row without work and it sucks.

If things dry up a little, we have a great 5000 sq ft house we're builing up in the hill of "Sleepy Hollow" in Marin Co. Just hope the break in the weather tomorrow (thursday) last all day. I need the work.

As for now. I'm catching up on some movie watching and finally finishin Socom II for the PS2. I know, i know. The game came out years ago and i should be half way done with the 3rd one. But i really only love racing games and the grand theft auto series.

Are you licensed? I need a new sub-panel installed

If you aren't interested, I'll float this job to anyone who will pull permits and do it cheap. Just replacing an existing 50 year old sub-panel with a bigger one. Fremont, CA.

Enjoy the days off and work hard when it's dry . I owned a small painting business for many years, and know exactly what you are dealing with.

Yeah, I work with my dad in the carpentry biz and we took most of this year off. It was frickin sweet. Enjoy your days off. Lifes not about jobs and money. You only live once, find something you really enjoy doing and pursue that, even if it doesn't bring in as much cash.

Living costs money, sure. And everyone has their own way of living. Some just won't do without a Rolls Royce, while I've seen others that are just as happy with a car that gets them from point "A" to point "B", one that runs. You've got to bring it in perspective.

I took most of the year off and was still able to dump $6000 into my car on top of living expenses, while still being able to save some money at the same time. I've also pursued other hobbies and interests. You've got to live smart, meaning living within your means. All of the things I own are paid for. I own them all, and if work falls apart down here and worse comes to worst, I can pack it back up to Idaho and live with my parents in their new 6,000 sq ft home that's paid for on 13 acres, for the time being, until something else sprouts up, and not haveto worry about anything.
