No more car meets or drives? New miles driven tax.

Bay Area drivers could pay to drive each mile under tax proposal

Imagine being taxed a dollar for driving to the store. Commute to work? That'll be a few bucks more.

Is it crazy or the way of the future? The Bay Area is considering a long-range plan to become the first place in the nation to tax drivers for every mile they travel, with an average bill of up to $1,300 per year.

Retarded bill. It shows how desperate the state is to generate revenue. If it somehow passes, I bet a lot of people will be disconnecting their gauge clusters. LOL

I'm 100% ok with charging a premium for being on the freeway when traffic is at standstill. There's no economic benefit to having thousands of cars bumper to bumper wasting time and gas.

If you ask someone on the street about their view on taxes they will tell you they are paying too much, and to tax the guy down the block more. I'm curious to hear what kind of ideas you guys have about raising state money.

Just divide California in half from San Lois obisbo. Charge the rich ****s in SoCal for water and don't deal with their ****. NorCal wins and lives happily ever after.

1)no way to inforce it what so ever
2)no one would vote for it, and no governor would sing it, it would be a death sentance to their job

The proposal is a long way from becoming reality. But under the scenario, drivers would likely have to install GPS-like trackers on their cars to tally travel in the nine-county Bay Area, from freeways to neighborhood streets, with only low-income people exempted.
Yea **** that, not installing a gov GPS device in my car.. total violation of privacy.

im 100% ok with you paying the tax for everyone...

that would be my proposal... everyone that votes yes for something this retarded should pay for it out of their pocket and everyone that votes no doesnt... simple as that... you want to have that "save the environment by any means" you should foot the bill for it... not everyone else...
